No, even at 54 I'm glad to say that I DO NOT have bags under my eyes! But I DO have bags over my pantry! Can you guess what they are???
Why yes of course, they are herbs; parsley, sage, lemon thyme and rosemary. They are hanging upside down to dry over my pantry in brown paper bags. I've cut holes in the bags to allow the air to flow through them and marked the bottom of the bags with the name of the herb. In a few weeks they should be dry enough to store in airtight bottles. Now if you are thinking that they'd be prettier hanging from the windows outside the bags, I agree. But all of the experts seem to stress that the bag works better. It did occur to me though, that if I could learn the art of Scherenschnitt (paper cutting), I could make those bags look pretty nifty! Next time I think I'll give it a try. How pretty would that be?

I'd never heard about drying the herbs in a sack before...Now I'll have to go look it up! My bags won't be cute cut-outs...to be sure.
What a great idea, Debora. And the cutout is so cute.
The last time I tried to dry parsley in the microwave, it caught on fire. Won't be tryin' that again any time soon ;-)
LOL! A little fire in the micro is a sure-fire way to douse creativity!
PS, to clarify the cutout is not mine; I have trouble following a straight line with my scissors, what with being left handed and all...well that's my excuse anyhow.
