One of my goals this year is to celebrate more. Not just holidays...but the little things in life. The ordinary. Last Thursday after work I decided to celebrate the day by treating myself to something fun. Just something small. So I spent a pleasant half an hour wandering through a sweet little local home boutique store looking for something that would make me smile. This made me smile!
If you live in the Pacific Northwest, you've gotta get used to rain. Rain in winter. Rain in summer. Rain in fall and spring. Don't even think of coming here without your raincoat! But there's something cozy about rainy days. Spending a dreary day with my friend or hubby; sharing a mug of French roast coffee or a steamy cup of Earl Grey tea with honey and lemon makes whiling away the rainy days really quite pleasant!
My two new little friends here, are sitting on my kitchen window sill to remind me to celebrate gray days with a warm mug and quiet conversation.
So tell me...how are you celebrating the ordinary-ness of your life?

Cute little guys. I like your goal of celebrating! I'm celebrating having nothing to do today...no where to go.
These little birds are so cute! They made me smile too although I am not a big fan of rain or gray skies. A rainy day can be relief but not too often.
My ordinariness...tea. Every morning when I get up before hubby to relish the dawn, I suit only myself in the tea choice. A cabinet full...I choose something fitting me like a strong Irish Breakfast...or Harney's Cranberry Orange in autumn...or occasionally an Earl Grey that is light a airy in its citrus!
Oh, Debora, what a lovely thing to do...celebrate each moment, no matter how small.
Love the little raincoated figures.
Well, I like to celebrate the ordinary in small ways, too.
Calling a friend, having a cup of coffee with half-and-half, buying a few pink roses, and sleeping a little bit later than usual can all bring a smile to my face on a rainy day! Susan
Love it. I celebrate the small things (which are often big in my heart) by noticing them.
Sunrise, clouds, birds, something new in the garden...
I also start my day with tea, and then sit down at my computer. The moment I saw your chicks, a smile formed. It really is the every day, the small things that make me happy.
