Welcome friends...thanks for coming by. We're seeking beauty in all of creation... in our faith and our families; our art and our music; our crafts and kitchens, and even in our own backyard. We'll share a poem or a recipe, a picture or a memory; maybe a dream of how we wish our life could be. And though we acknowledge that the world can be harsh, we're keeping it pleasant in our little corner; endeavoring to keep the words from the Book of all Books: ...Whatsoever things are lovely; think on these things.

I so enjoy hearing from you...so leave me a comment; it'll make my day!

Sunday at Granville Island

We've been working pretty hard in our back yard. Today we decided to take a little break; so we visited one of our favorite spots across the border in Vancouver; Granville Island. We meandered through the market place, oohing and ahhing over the fabulous selection of foods. As we had already had eaten a substantial breakfast; we settled on desserts. Kelly had his favorite; chocolate chip cookie with rich coffee. I had a slice of carrot cake with a cup of green tea. It was nice enough to eat outdoors next to False Creek. We munched on our goodies while listening to street muscians and fed the pigeons our crumbs. One particularly cheeky pigeon hopped up on our table to get the best of our crumbs. I wish our little town had such a market. I would go every Sunday with a basket and fill it with the finest produce, then go home and make the tastiest salad ever! I would buy fresh flowers every week; maybe daisies. Unfortunately, we can't bring fresh produce or flowers over the border. Oh well; it's a nice fantasy. And we had a lovely day. Hope your Sunday was equally relaxing! Do you have a favorite Sunday afternoon getaway?
