Welcome friends...thanks for coming by. We're seeking beauty in all of creation... in our faith and our families; our art and our music; our crafts and kitchens, and even in our own backyard. We'll share a poem or a recipe, a picture or a memory; maybe a dream of how we wish our life could be. And though we acknowledge that the world can be harsh, we're keeping it pleasant in our little corner; endeavoring to keep the words from the Book of all Books: ...Whatsoever things are lovely; think on these things.

I so enjoy hearing from you...so leave me a comment; it'll make my day!

Raspberry Beret; NOT the Kind You Find in a Second Hand Store!

"I feel so silly in this hat..."

So I've started knitting. Made 2 stocking hats and 2 pair of wrist warmers. Today I finished another hat. A beret. Raspberry-colored. You know that catchy song by Prince..."She wore a raaaazberry beret; the kind you find in a 2nd hand store..." I've been humming it the whole time I've been knitting. Imagining myself or some lucky recipient of my creation walking jauntily down the street in this bold fashion statement.

Except that now that my beret is done, I realize that it would be more likely found in the pharmacy, right next to the hot water bottles. Because that's what it looks like! It's a raaazberry hot-water bottle; the kind you find next to Pepto-Bismal...

I tried it on my husband (what a good sport)! A thermometer in his mouth would have completed the look. When I asked him what I should do with it,he quipped, "Give it to someone you don't like!"

Oh well, on to the next project...

I loved this post. What a hoot! Don't give up on your knitting. Ask hubby if he'd like a scarf.
