Welcome friends...thanks for coming by. We're seeking beauty in all of creation... in our faith and our families; our art and our music; our crafts and kitchens, and even in our own backyard. We'll share a poem or a recipe, a picture or a memory; maybe a dream of how we wish our life could be. And though we acknowledge that the world can be harsh, we're keeping it pleasant in our little corner; endeavoring to keep the words from the Book of all Books: ...Whatsoever things are lovely; think on these things.

I so enjoy hearing from you...so leave me a comment; it'll make my day!

Jack's Lantern Company

Tomorrow is Halloween and I've been dismayed with my porch. It's been looking pretty raggedy of late, and I don't want trick-or-treaters to avoid the place because it looks ghastly! I hate spending more money on plants that will be replaced soon by Christmas decorations, and I'm soooo over those little scarecrows from Michaels. So I rummaged around the garage and dug up a fall wreath and clever sign that I bought at an estate sale years ago. I totally forgot I had them. Eureka! Now I just need to get some candy for those trick-or-treaters...

The mums and the burning bush berries saw me out on the porch taking pictures and screamed, "Hey, you! Get over here and take our pictures. We're gorgeous!"

I had a little fun with the 'posterize' button on Picasa.

Happy Halloween!

I think your fall wreath and porch are beautiful! I see you still have the chair out there, I need to replace mine...and no, you would not want to see our porch right now!

I think your wreath and porch are stunning. And would be standing there with my mouth open as I took it in.
Happy Halloween.

Great autumn views! I too am over the scarecrows. Love piles of pumpkins and gourds sitting around instead. It has rained for three days here and more to come. It is dampening my last days of autumn! Maybe November will give a little Indian Summer.

Love that cute sign! And your mums are amazing! I'm sure the little ghosts and goblins felt very welcomed!

Those fall colors are God's gift, aren't they?

Hey Debora! Gosh, how have I not stopped by here in so long?? I love all your photos. Fall is my favorite season, too. We've had a bit of rain lately, too, but the trees are about at their peak, I think...Gorgeous!
Have a wonderful weekend!
