Welcome friends...thanks for coming by. We're seeking beauty in all of creation... in our faith and our families; our art and our music; our crafts and kitchens, and even in our own backyard. We'll share a poem or a recipe, a picture or a memory; maybe a dream of how we wish our life could be. And though we acknowledge that the world can be harsh, we're keeping it pleasant in our little corner; endeavoring to keep the words from the Book of all Books: ...Whatsoever things are lovely; think on these things.

I so enjoy hearing from you...so leave me a comment; it'll make my day!

Instagram!

Since I'm so in love with my SLR camera that I want to marry it; I've been snubbing the very thought of taking pics with my phone. I mean, really! Why would I want to fumble around with my phone--trying to keep it all nice and straight and making my hands stop shaking when I push the button is just such a hassle. Then it dawned on me...my phone is ALWAYS with me!!! Duh! No more sighing and shrugging my shoulders when I drive past the absolutely perfect shot with exquisite lighting--but my camera's home in the bag. Watch out! I'm gonna be slamming on the brakes and jumping out of my car to catch those images on my phone. Plus I can practice and hone my composition skills anytime with my phone. If I can take a good pic on my phone...then I can take a GREAT pic with my SLR! And then of course, there's that whole Instagram deal. My kids have been after me to try it. So what the heck! Baron and I set out on our morning walk armed with the usual treats, potty bags, kleenex, AND my phone. Here's my very first Instagram offering. I edited it on PicsArt.

I might be needing a bumper sticker that says "I BRAKE FOR PHOTOGRAPHS!" I just hope my SLR doesn't get jealous of this little flirtation with my camera phone...
